Community Involvement

Pumphrey Hamel is your local independent insurance agent. Our customers have been very good to us in the 40+ years we’ve been operating here. It’s important to give back to the community that gives us so much. The following is just a partial list of the numerous ways we’re involved in our community:

We conduct an annual Christmas program the Sunday after Thanksgiving every year. We rent out the Massillon Lions Lincoln Theatre and show a Christmas movie and make sure each child in attendance gets a professional picture with Santa Claus, who is kind enough to drop by every year despite his busy schedule. We also collect canned goods at the event from the attendees who care to bring them and provide them to our local food bank. During the year, we oversee the collection of over 1,000 pounds of food!

Pumphrey Hamel Insurance helps coach the Catholic Youth Sports Ministry non-profit sports program for ages nine and younger in basketball, football, baseball, and soccer.

We are an active supporter of the Massillon Museum, ArtsinStark, The County Arts Council, and other local arts programs; especially for those involving kids and arts education.

We are a proud supporter of Berea Children’s Home and Family Services.

We also donate and volunteer for local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts events and outings.

Pumphrey Hamel works with certain clients and families to help keep the elderly and sick in their own homes as long as possible with Kendra Nasvadi, president of Pumphrey Hamel, serving as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist

For five years, Nasvadi has been the president of Ohio Charter Coffee House, which brings together insurance agents from northeast Ohio and educates them on Ethics, Errors and Omissions along with the proper standards for running an insurance agency.
